Bryan Maltais: Producer
I’m a nature documentary film producer based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I typically produce solo films, meaning that I film, write, narrate and edit them myself. I’m originally a landscape and wildlife photographer. I learned cinematography through photography, with the amalgamation of DSLR and video cameras. In lieu of complexity, I film with basic gear that fits on my back, which lets me quickly cover distance to get the footage that I’m after. I’ve meticulously pieced my gear together to be compact, while not sacrificing perspective or image quality. I aim to compose every scene aesthetically, as if an artistic photo. I majored in Wildlife Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, with an emphasis in Herpetology, which is what my films mostly focus on. Being captivated with amphibians and reptiles, it’s inescapable that I’m concerned with, and try to increase awareness about the Chytrid epidemic that’s threatening amphibians.
